Montessori School of Redding
The Montessori School of Redding was founded in 1990 and has been serving the preschool and pre-k children and toddlers of Redding and the neighboring communities ever since. Nestled in Fairfield County’s number one small town, we are a private, non-discriminatory, non-sectarian school with a Montessori certified head teacher and Montessori trained support staff. The program follows the Montessori philosophy of individualized, self-paced learning in a carefully prepared environment. This multi-aged, child-centered program based on over 100 years of child development research blends language, mathematics, science and geography with practical life and sensorial exercises as well as integrating respect for self, the environment and peace education. Children enjoy daily integration of the arts, music and outdoor activities as well. Whether you live in Redding, Easton, Bethel, Newtown, Danbury, Ridgefield or another town nearby, we invite you to learn more about our wonderful school.
To be eligible for admission to the preschool program, a child must be at least three years old by December 31 of the admitting year. Toddlers must be 18 months to participate in the toddler programs.
The first step is to schedule an appointment to observe a class in session. The visit helps acquaint prospective parents with the Montessori Method and gives them the chance to explore the classroom and meet the staff.
Parents of prospective students then complete an application form and return it to the school along with the application fee to be considered for admission.
Montessori's educational approach has changed the learning process throughout the world. There are approximately 22,000 Montessori schools worldwide. Montessori schools teach children from as early has birth to 18 years old when children become adults.
